This past Saturday was International Women’s Day. I posted a handful of images to facebook, but I didn’t have time to post them here. Women have been an important part of this project – it has been easy to see that they play a vital role in the finding of peace. Please help me celebrate by sharing these images around – email them to your friends, post them to twitter.
On other news I am speaking at TEDx Napa Valley at the end of this month. Immediately after that I will be traveling to East Africa to do some photographic work for the African Prisons Project – a non-profit that works on reforming prisons in Africa. The APP is run by an amazing man, Alexander MacLean, who was identified as 30 people under 30 who are changing the world. He asked me to photograph some of his work for him last year.

Noriko Watanabe was an artist friend of mine in Japan where I was studying traditional Japanese arts. We corresponded for years after I left. She passed away a decade ago, but she has remained an inspiration for me to this day.
